Back in the army...

Despite not meeting up with my Medical Officer during my army days for nearly 6 years, it's not exactly a good sign to know that he still recognise my face.

Dr. Ashraff, voted as one of the top 10 bachelors in the recent New Paper's V-day special, is one of the doctors at Eden Medical Aesthetics, where he specialize in cosmetic surgery.

Too bad he won't be able to help me to downgrade, such that I will never need to do any Reservist Duties again. Oh well...

My running has improved till 13 minutes for 2.4km, so my target of hitting below 12 minutes by August is still within reach.

Unfortunately, my pull-ups still fluctuates between 0 and 1.

I'm contemplating on applying for a gym membership. By paying up beforehand, it'll give me the motivation to go gym more often (CANNOT WASTE $$$!!!), regardless of the weather conditions.

But forking out $50++ per month does seemed a tad expensive for me...should I, or shouldn't I?

More S.League action

Today's matchup featured Young Lions vs Balestier at Jalan Besar. It looked as though it was heading to a 0-0 draw, until Khairul Amri stepped up to score 2 wonderful goals.

It was a bore in the 1st half. Only 1 shot on target. Besides that, the only other excitement we had was when the referee blew for half-time

Half-time entertainment

The pace of the game picked up after half-time. In fact, the game could have ended 5-0 in favor of the Young Lions, if not for Balestier's GK.

Khairul Amri’s brace was the deciding factor for the Young Lions to notch up their 1st win in the S.League in a 2-0 victory over Balestier Khalsa FC.

The match seemed destined to be a goalless draw, until a brilliantly struck volley from 30 yards by Khairul broke the deadlock in the 79th minute.

He doubled his goal tally 3 minutes later with a header from a corner kick to seal the 3 points for his team.

Dad's ACTUAL Birthday

Dad brought the family out for lunch to celebrate his birthday. (Yes, I know, we've celebrated on last Sunday & yesterday, but hey, who needs a reason to eat good food?)

The choice for today was Dim Sum at "It's Dim Sum" (一点心), located at Centre Stage in Marina Square.

As you can see, the place was formally a Japanese Restaurant. Instead of redesigning the place, they make use of the equipment left behind...& viola! Dim Sum bar!

Business was brisk, and the food was good. The usual dim sum stuff were ordered, though 1 caught our attention...

It's just Yam Paste, but the name for it was "Ugly Duckling". When the plate came...the ducklings look so cute!!!

Awwwww.....that was the last dish we ate. None of us wanted to eat the poor duckies...hahaha

Not for the Environmentalist

Dad decided to take us out for dinner at one restaurant which main dish is considered a much-prized delicacy, yet caused much commotion to the wildlife conservationists: Shark's Fin Soup.

Tam Kah Shark's Fin Restaurant, located at Upper Cross Street, was the location which we've feast upon. I had bad memories of that place last year: the service, to put it mildly, was chaotic. They've completely forgotten our dishes, having to wait more than 45 minutes before it came, and having to see other diners who came in later than us finishing their meals earlier.

I forsee backlash...

Today's meal came without problems. At least this came of some comfort on a boring Saturday (Woke up too late for a lunch appointment, movie outing cancelled, plans of swimming aborted due to hordes of children flooding the pool)

Hope tomorrow will be livelier...
