The return to writing
Some of you may know that I had worked as a writer for S.League for the past 3 years. This year, since Darren has asked me to help out as a backup, I've decided to volunteer for this & next Sunday's matches.

Today's game was at Tampines, which the Stags took on Gombak United Football Club. It ended with a 2-1 victory for the home side.
It has been 2 years since I've wrote an actual report, cos I'm usually the one who is doing the live duties (updating the website), while Tay does the writing.
Sad to say, my partner-in-crime is not free for the next 2 weeks, so the Match Reporting burden will instead fall on me.
Here's an excerpt of my report:

Overall, it could be better. I've been writing informally on my blog, that I had trouble reverting my style to adopt the "sleague.com style bible". The report is too "flowery" (as in too much emphasis on the actions), and the quotes seemed short.
I guess I'm my own biggest critic.

“Getting the 3 points is the most important thing.”
That’s how Tampines coach Vorawan Chitavanich sums it up after his team was made to work hard with a 2-1 victory over the returning Gombak United.
Noh Alam Shah showed no signs of the injury that kept him out of last Tuesday with 2 well-placed headers in each half, before Jalal grabbed a consolation goal for Gombak in injury time.
